Detailed Itinerary
Nairobi or Mombasa to Tsavo East
After an early morning pick-up from your hotel or airport, you will drive to Tsavo East National Park. Enter through the Bachuma Gate and begin your game drive immediately. You will witness the vast open plains and the red-dusted elephants for which the park is famous. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a mid-range lodge (e.g., Ashnil Aruba or Sentrim Tsavo East). After a short rest, head out for an afternoon game drive around the Aruba Dam. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.
Tsavo East to Tsavo West
Start the day with an early morning game drive to catch the predators before the heat sets in. After breakfast, drive to Tsavo West, enjoying the changing scenery from dry plains to lush, hilly volcanic terrain. You will check in to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Mzima Springs, a natural oasis with crystal-clear water hosting hippos and fish, viewable from an underground chamber. You may also visit the Shetani Lava Flow. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at a mid-range lodge.
Tsavo West to Nairobi or Mombasa
After a final early morning game drive and a hearty breakfast, you will bid farewell to the wilderness. You will drive back to your drop-off point in Nairobi or Mombasa, enjoying a scenic drive through the Kenyan countryside. A stop for lunch will be made en route. Arrive in the afternoon, marking the end of your memorable mid-range safari experience.
