Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport, you will drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2 hours). Upon arrival, you will head straight into the bush for your first game drive. The park is best known for its spectacular panoramic views, sprawling savannah, and the life-giving Tarangire River. Enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch inside the park at a designated site overlooking the river. In the afternoon, continue your game drive to spot lions, leopards, and giraffes. As the sun begins to set, head to your mid-range tented camp or lodge just outside the park gates. Enjoy a hot shower, a three-course dinner, and a peaceful night's sleep in a comfortable bed.
Full Day Game Drive in Tarangire
Wake up to the sounds of the bush and enjoy a hearty breakfast at the lodge. Today is dedicated to a full day of exploring the diverse ecosystems of Tarangire. You will pack a premium picnic lunch to maximize your time, driving deep into the southern part of the park where fewer tourists venture. Visit the Silale Swamps, a favorite haunt for elephants and numerous bird species, and marvel at the giant baobab trees silhouetted against the sky. In the late afternoon, leave the park and return to your lodge. Relax on your private veranda, perhaps take a dip in the swimming pool (seasonal/property dependent), and enjoy a delicious dinner sharing stories of the day's sightings around the campfire.
Morning Game Drive & Return to Arusha
Start your final day with an early morning game drive to catch the animals when they are most active. The soft morning light provides perfect conditions for photography, and the cooler temperatures make for excellent predator tracking. After a final short game drive as you exit the park, return to your lodge for a hot, plated breakfast and a chance to pack up. You will then drive back to Arusha, arriving in the early afternoon for a hot lunch and a drop-off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your comfortable safari adventure.
