Safari Highlights
Detailed Itinerary
Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
After an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park (approximately 2 hours). Upon arrival, you will head straight into the park for your first game drive. This small but diverse park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, and the spectacular alkaline lake often tinged pink with flamingos. Enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch at a scenic site overlooking the water. In the afternoon, continue exploring the riverine forest and acacia woodlands. As the sun sets, head to your mid-range lodge or tented camp just outside the park for a hot shower, a delicious dinner, and a restful night.
Cultural Tour & Transfer to Ngorongoro
Wake up to a hearty breakfast and enjoy a relaxed morning. You have the option for a short morning game drive or a cultural tour of the famous Mto wa Mbu village, where you can experience local markets, banana plantations, and traditional Chagga cuisine. After lunch, you will ascend the Great Rift Valley escarpment and drive into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at your lodge perched high on the Crater rim in the late afternoon. Take in the stunning, jaw-dropping views of the caldera below, relax by the pool, and enjoy a three-course dinner under the stars.
Full Day Ngorongoro Crater Descent
Rise early for breakfast before descending 600 meters into the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” the Ngorongoro Crater. Today is dedicated to a full-day game drive on the crater floor, which hosts the highest density of wildlife in Africa. The enclosed nature of the crater makes spotting game relatively easy; look out for the endangered Black Rhino, large prides of lions, and massive bulls elephants. Enjoy a premium picnic lunch near the hippo pool, surrounded by wildlife. In the late afternoon, ascend the crater wall and return to your lodge to relax and share stories of the day's sightings around the campfire.
Leisurely Morning & Return to Arusha
Start your final day with a leisurely breakfast while watching the mist lift off the crater rim—a perfect moment for photography. Depending on your flight schedule, you can enjoy a short nature walk on the crater rim or simply relax and soak in the final views of the highlands. You will then drive back to Arusha (approximately 3–4 hours), arriving in the early afternoon for a hot, plated lunch and a drop-off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your comfortable safari adventure.
