Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater Rim
After an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you will stop at the viewpoint for a stunning panoramic look over the crater floor. You may enjoy a short game drive in Lake Manyara National Park en route or visit the Mto wa Mbu village for a cultural tour. In the afternoon, you will proceed to your accommodation on the crater rim or in Karatu. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay, listening to the sounds of the night.
Full Day Descent into the Crater
Wake up early for breakfast before descending the steep 600-meter walls into the Ngorongoro Crater floor. You will spend the entire day on a game drive in this unique ecosystem. The crater hosts prides of lions, elephants, hyenas, and hippos. You will stop for a picnic lunch near the hippo pool, surrounded by wildlife. In the late afternoon, you will ascend back up the crater wall and return to your camp for dinner and your overnight stay.
Crater Rim Walk & Return to Arusha
After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning walk along the crater rim (optional) or simply take in the breathtaking views one last time. If time permits, you may visit the Olmoti Crater or a local Maasai boma to learn about their traditions. You will then drive back to Arusha, arriving in the afternoon for lunch and a drop-off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your budget adventure.
