Kampala to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
After an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe, you will drive northwest to Murchison Falls National Park (approximately 4–5 hours). Your first stop is the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided walking safari to track the only wild rhinos in Uganda. After this unique encounter, you will continue to the park. You will visit the Top of the Falls to witness the Nile River crashing through a narrow canyon—a truly breathtaking sight. Afterward, proceed to your budget lodge or camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Game Drive & Nile Boat Cruise
Start the day with a sunrise game drive on the northern bank of the Nile. The savannah here is teeming with wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, Cape buffalo, and large herds of Uganda kob. You will also look out for the rare Rothschild’s giraffe. After a hot lunch at the lodge, you will embark on an afternoon boat cruise up the Nile River. The cruise takes you to the base of the falls, offering close-up views of hippos, crocodiles, and massive elephants bathing in the river. Keep an eye out for birds like the Goliath heron and the rare shoebill stork. Return to the lodge for dinner.
Morning Game Drive & Return to Kampala
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and one final short game drive as you exit the park, giving you a chance to capture any photos you missed. You will then drive back to Kampala, passing through the beautiful landscape of rural Uganda. You will stop for lunch en route in the town of Masindi. Arrive in Kampala in the late afternoon to be dropped off at your hotel or Entebbe Airport, marking the end of your Ugandan adventure.
