Arusha to Arusha National Park
After an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha, you will drive a short distance to the entrance of Arusha National Park (approximately 45 minutes). Your adventure begins with a unique canoeing safari on the Momella Lakes (subject to water levels), where you will glide past pods of hippos and flocks of flamingos and waterfowl. After a hot lunch at a picnic site, enjoy an extensive game drive through the park. You will visit the Ngurdoto Crater, often called the “Little Ngorongoro,” and drive through the lush forest inhabited by hundreds of noisy black-and-white colobus monkeys. As the sun sets, head to your mid-range lodge or tented camp just outside the park for a hot shower, a delicious dinner, and a restful night.
Walking Safari & Return to Arusha
Start your final day with an exhilarating walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger. This is the only park in the Northern Circuit that offers this unique opportunity to track giraffes, zebras, and buffalo on foot, learning about the smaller flora, fauna, and insect life often missed from a vehicle. Following the walk, return to your lodge for a hearty breakfast. Enjoy a final short game drive as you exit the park, looking for leopards hiding in the acacia trees with the snowy peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. You will then drive back to Arusha, arriving in time for a hot lunch and a drop-off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your adventure.
