Detailed Itinerary
Nairobi → Maasai Mara
Your safari begins with a morning pick up from your Nairobi hotel or airport by a Vanta Tour and Safaris representative. After a brief briefing at our city office, you will depart for the Mara via the scenic Great Rift Valley viewpoint, where a photo stop is included. The journey continues with a stop at Narok town for last minute supplies or a restroom break. You will arrive at your lodge or camp in the afternoon, check in, and enjoy a hot lunch. After a short rest, you will head out for an introductory game drive, where you can spot giraffes, zebras, elephants, and lions as the sun begins to lower. You will then return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
Full Day Maasai Mara Exploration
After an early morning pre dawn breakfast, you will depart for a full day game drive with a packed lunch included. This is the best time to see predators hunting. Around midday, you will enjoy a picnic lunch at the banks of the Mara River, where you can watch hippos and crocodiles from a safe distance. If you are traveling during the migration season from July to October, you may witness thousands of wildebeest crossing the river. In the afternoon, you will continue the drive searching for leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and rare bird species including the superb starling and lilac breasted roller. You will return to the lodge as the sun sets and enjoy a hearty dinner, with the option to share stories around the campfire if weather permits.
Maasai Mara to Nairobi
After breakfast at the lodge and check out, you have the option to visit a Maasai Village for an additional twenty dollars to learn about local traditions, dancing, and crafts. You will then depart for Nairobi, stopping for lunch at a scenic spot at your own expense or enjoying a picnic snack provided by us. You will arrive in Nairobi by late afternoon, approximately four to five PM, and be dropped off at your city hotel or airport for your onward journey. Please note that dinner and overnight in Nairobi are not included.
