Nairobi to Masai Mara
After an early morning pick-up from your hotel or airport, you will drive down the escarpment and into the Great Rift Valley. You will stop briefly to admire the views before continuing to the Masai Mara. You will arrive at your camp in time for lunch. In the afternoon, you will head out for your first game drive, getting your first glimpse of the abundant wildlife. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at a budget tented camp.
Full Day in Masai Mara
You will enjoy an early morning game drive before returning to the camp for breakfast. Afterward, you will embark on a full-day game drive with a packed lunch, allowing you to explore deep into the reserve. Your guide will take you to the Mara River banks to look for the dramatic wildebeest and zebra crossings (seasonal). The park is also home to large prides of lions and cheetahs. You will return to the camp in the late afternoon. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at your tented camp.
Full Day in Masai Mara
Today offers another full day of adventure. You can choose to have a pre-breakfast game drive to catch the predators when they are most active, or take an optional hot air balloon flight over the plains (extra cost). After breakfast, you will continue your game drive, visiting different areas of the reserve such as the Mara Triangle or the Lookout Hill. A picnic lunch will be served in the wild. In the evening, you can visit a nearby Maasai village to learn about their culture (optional). Dinner and your overnight stay will be at your tented camp.
Full Day in Masai Mara
With five days in the park, you have the unique opportunity to visit areas that shorter safaris miss. You will spend the day searching for elusive species like leopards and rhinos, or simply enjoying the herds of elephants and giraffes against the backdrop of the rolling hills. Lunch will be served at the camp or as a picnic. The relaxed schedule allows for excellent photography opportunities. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at your tented camp.
Masai Mara to Nairobi
You will wake up to the sounds of the African bush for one last early morning game drive. After returning to the camp for a hearty breakfast, you will bid farewell to the Mara and begin the drive back to Nairobi. You will stop for lunch en route. Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your incredible 5-day migration safari.
