This four day safari combines two of Kenya’s most spectacular wildlife destinations – the world famous Maasai Mara National Reserve and the stunning Lake Nakuru National Park, known for its flocks of flamingos and rhino sanctuary. Detailed Itinerary
Nairobi to Maasai Mara
You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel or airport by a Vanta Tour and Safaris representative. After a brief briefing at our city office, you will depart for the Maasai Mara via the scenic Great Rift Valley viewpoint, where a photo stop is included. You will continue through Narok town before arriving at your lodge or camp in time for lunch. After checking in and resting briefly, you will head out for an afternoon game drive, giving you your first taste of the Mara's incredible wildlife. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Full Day in Maasai Mara
After an early breakfast, you will depart with a packed lunch for a full day of game driving across the vast plains of the Maasai Mara. You will search for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and if you are lucky, the rare black rhino. Around midday, you will enjoy a picnic lunch on the banks of the Mara River, where you can watch hippos and crocodiles from a safe distance. During migration season from July to October, you may witness the dramatic river crossings of wildebeest and zebra. You will continue your game drive into the late afternoon before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, you will check out and depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. You will travel via the Great Rift Valley escarpment, enjoying stunning views along the way. You will arrive at Lake Nakuru in time for lunch at your lodge or camp. In the afternoon, you will embark on a game drive around the lake, famous for its thousands of flamingos and pelicans. You will also have excellent chances to spot both black and white rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, and the rare tree-climbing lions that Nakuru is known for. You will return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Lake Nakuru to Nairobi
You will enjoy an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, which is the best time to see rhinos and lions before the sun gets too hot. You will return to your lodge for a full breakfast, then check out. You will stop at the Baboon Cliff viewpoint for one last panoramic photo of the lake and the surrounding park. You will then depart for Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon. You will be dropped off at your city hotel or airport for your onward journey. Dinner and overnight in Nairobi are not included.
